‘Trump Was Lying To The American People’

A former White Residence stenographer explained Wednesday that she resigned because President Donald Trump was “lying to the American folks.”

The stenographer, Beck Dorey-Stein, joined the White Household in 2012 during Barack Obama’s presidency. But she “couldn’t be proud” of performing in the White Property underneath Trump, she explained to CNN on Wednesday, and resigned in early 2017.

“I was so proud to serve below the Obama administration,” Dorey-Stein stated. “And I felt like President Trump was lying to the American people and not even seeking … to explain to the truth.”

As a stenographer, she was tasked with giving an precise transcript of discussions involving the president. She explained her place as the “first line of defense in opposition to the press” by creating certain the president was not misquoted.
