The new updates of the operating system Windows 10 has banned the use of compression methods MJPEG and H264 USB webcams, leaving only YUY2 acceptable standard. As usual in Microsoft, it was done deliberately to improve the ability of applications that access the webcam.
But there is a solution to this problem of webcam in Windows 10, specifically the code error is 0xA00F4246(0x887A0004).
What you need to do is:
1- Open the “Registry Editor” to do right clicking on the button of Windows and choose “Run” (or press Windows + R), after you must type “regedit”.
2- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows Media Foundation Platform
3- Create a DWORD key (32 bits) named “EnableFrameServerMode” and set to 0.
(It may not work when you update again. You will need to do again this process.)
