There are no words to describe the bloodshed and horror that continues to rain down on the innocent people of Ukraine.

Children, the elderly, families, the ill and disabled, family pets, medics – all caught up in the unspeakable consequences of evil being liberally dosed out to whoever is unluckiest.

As has become the modus ­operandi for many conflicts, this tragic scenario is born of the warped mind of a dictator. In this case Vladimir Putin, a small, unattractive dolt, with an unfeasibly large skull – full of evil, no doubt – who gets his kicks from a diet of misery and tragedy.

Putin’s killing innocent men, women, children and goodness knows who else. “Oh what larks” he’ll think.

I bet he was one of those ghastly boys who tortured insects and took them apart leg by leg, wing by wing, bit by bit by bit, by bit. Just for “fun”.

It’s believed that Putin has Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism ­spectrum disorder, which causes problems with social interaction, which he seems to have taken to the extreme, and weaponised to boot, if his current activities are anything to go by.

Having a son in the British Army has brought the bloodshed into close focus, of course, even though right now he’s miles away from the death and destruction currently being played out in the name of an evil, deranged despot.

So, I daren’t tell him about what’s going on at Chelsea FC! Sometimes, thankfully, the little things still matter the most…
