There have been rumours for months as to who will join Simon Cowell on this year’s panel.

And it has now been confirmed that Robbie Williams, his wife Ayda Field and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson will be judges on this year’s X Factor, as they were spotted arriving for the series photocall on Tuesday.

The stars were also seen exiting their cars at Somerset House as speculation was finally put to rest over who would be appearing on the panel, following the departures of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger earlier this year.

Robbie looked to be in good spirits as he joined his wife of eight years in arriving for the event, flashing a peace sign to waiting fans as he rocked a casual all-black look.

The Rock DJ singer teamed black jeans with a spotted bomber jacket as he showed off his silver locks for the event.

Meanwhile Ayda was effortlessly chic in hounds tooth flared trousers and a monochrome pussy bow blouse, cosying up to her man as they arrived for the much-anticipated news.

Meanwhile Louis went for a more relaxed look as he teamed a loose-fitting white hoodie with matching stripe tracksuit bottoms.

The musical heartthrob is no stranger to The X Factor having made his name as part of the mega-successful band One Direction, which announced its hiatus in 2015.

Louis will be hoping to pass on his own experiences on the show to its hopefuls, as they look to make a brand new popstar after 14 years of success.

The news comes after rumours circulated on Monday that Simon was close to announcing who would feature on the new panel, with a press conference scheduled for Tuesday according to the Sun.

Sharon Osborne is also set to return to the show as a judge when Robbie needs to step away due to touring commitments.

He will be touring South America during some of the live shows and Sharon has said she will cover as a judge for the shows he has to miss. 

Ayda recently fuelled speculation she will be joining The X Factor panel alongside husband Robbie, by refusing to deny the rumours.

When asked on Loose Women about it on Monday, the 39-year-old said: ‘It’s very rare that I am speechless but I have no comment.’

Ayda attempted to snub the chat by starting to speak to fellow panellist Kelly Brook, but anchor Ruth Langsford continued to ask about her potential role.

The star added: ‘Changing the subject … have you don’t something new with your hair? Kelly, it’s been so great to see you, it’s amazing, it’s been years.

‘I love you, ladies, but no comment.’

Robbie – who has five-year-old daughter Teddy and three-year-old son Charlton with actress Ayda – recently sparked speculation that he could be joining the panel.

He said last week that ‘nothing has been signed’, but he said he would ‘love to do it’.

He added: ‘I’ve read these reports too and I would understand, because I’ve read the articles too, that people would think I’m doing The X Factor and so is my wife. As it happens people say it every year and I always say “no comment”.

‘There’s a lot of me that would love to do it, there’s a lot of talking but nothing has been signed.

‘Me and Simon and Lauren and my kids and little Eric hang out a lot and we talk about a lot of things. Nothing is signed, but watch this space.’

Louis has reportedly been signed as a judge in a bid to shake up the panel, reported the Mirror.  

The insider detailed Louis’ relationship with music mogul Simon Cowell, saying: ‘He’s a close friend of the show and would make a brilliant judge.

‘Simon mentored One Direction and signed them to Syco Records, Now he’s looking after Louis’ solo career – which is going really well.’

They continued: ‘Louis is very much a part of the X Factor family. Simon hopes the deal will be done in the next few days.’
