Dad who ‘kidnapped his two daughters, 1 & 6, made transfer of €55,000 before fleeing Tenerife with girls on boat’

THE dad accused of kidnapping his two young daughters transferred €55,000 before he fled to Tenerife on a boat.
Tomas Antonio Gimeno, 37, disappeared on Tuesday with children Olivia, six, and one-year-old Anna after he left their mum a goodbye note.

According to 20 Minutos, Gimeno sent the large sum of money from one of his bank accounts to another before taking his daughters from their school.
Diario de Avisos also said that investigators will be able to discover if Gimeno withdrew the money from his accounts.
The boat he is believed to have taken out to sea with the children has now been found with no-one on board off Puertito de Guimar, just over 10 miles south of Santa Cruz.
It was discovered adrift by coastguards on Wednesday afternoon and has now been towed to dry land.
Today police were in a race against time to find the missing trio after it emerged Tomas had left the children’s mum a goodbye note.
Police sources have described the case as “high risk.”
The girls’ dad is said to have sent WhatsApp messages to their mum, who he separated from some time ago, saying he intended to take them without consent.
One local paper, quoting sources close to the case, said: “The messages the dad sent are undoubtedly farewell messages.”

Specialist divers have been mobilised as part of a massive operation to find the toddler and her older sister.
Port officials have confirmed the boat now being examined by forensic experts left Santa Cruz on Tuesday night.
Spanish missing peoples’ organisation SOS Desaparecidos said in a tweet it labelled as “urgent”.
“Anna and Olivia Gimeno vanished on Tuesday in the Tenerife capital Santa Cruz,” it read, describing the younger girl as having curly short blonde hair and the older one as long straight brown hair.
It later posted a separate missing alert for their father, saying: “Tomas Antonio Gimeno disappeared the same day in the same location.
“He is 37, 6ft tall, of normal complexion with chestnut brown hair and brown eyes.”
The missing man is understood to have been wearing dark shorts and a black top when he was last seen.
Olivia was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a blue top and black trainers.
